Wednesday's pie making went well. A 1:1 pie ratio that made Tom proud. But Traci called after having splicing her wrist open at work. New plan: Traci will direct me and her boyfriend in all Thanksgiving meal preparations. Oh goody.
When the turkey made it on the grill (3 1/2 hours late), it was too tall for the lid. Next new plan: create a "Turkey Tent" made of aluminum foil.
The turkey smoked- a lot. Too much. We checked on it and found what, from one angle, appears almost to be a crime scene. The turkey's back side was nearly cremated. There was one small portion that was semi-edible. But I took their word on that one.
Thank goodness for the pies-in particular my very first lattice-top apple pie!
